ROTARY SPOTLIGHT IS HERE!

Each month we will feature one of the many Glen Ellyn Rotary members that make such a difference in our communities. These are people that fill many roles in their day to day lives and apply Rotary values in everything they do. This month’s member is Dave “Doc” Clayton. Doc is skilled at storytelling. He has the gift of humor, while at the same time, sharing wisdom and life lessons that inspire us all to be better people.

When did you become a Rotarian?
I joined Rotary in 1968.

Why did you join Rotary?
I joined to meet other business leaders and to give back to the community.

What is your best Rotary memory?
My best memory is becoming president in 1676 and as a result, going to the International Convention in Montreal.

What are some of your hobbies/interests outside of Rotary?
I enjoy golf, reading, being involved in my businesses, and keeping up with my five grandchildren.

What is one fun fact about you that no one might know?
I have been a farm hand, bus boy, shoe salesman, kennel cleaner, bartender and martial arts black belt. All leading to becoming a veterinarian, go figure!
