Dr. Penny Belke (Glen Ellyn Rotarian) spontaneously substituted for a speaker that became sick. She did a wonderful job of describing to us why we should breath through our noses. It may sound silly, but it is a matter of life and death.

How much oxygen do you need? I think I want all I can get. You see the problem is we get to much carbon dioxide when breathing through our mouths. Mouth breathing slows the volume of oxygen to our brains by 2%. Our noses filter 75% of all bacteria coming in through breathing. See Penny I got something out of your talk. By the way Penny wanted to tape our mouths shut! Not because we were talking to much but to demonstrate how to breathe through our noses...PJ
